Piren Sauna in Mandal was developed through the tender competition in Lindesnes municipality, where our client Blaud was the applicant. Sydvest Arkitekter drew the project, while we were responsible for the tender documentation and the whole body of supporting material. Here we put weight on material choices, energy solutions and a climate account, so the project would be well founded technically and socially. The result was a coherent submission that answered the requirements of the competition while reflecting the local qualities of Sjøsanden and Furulunden. The entry scored 9.4 out of 10, twice the score of the runner-up. The sauna is now finished and in operation.
