Piren Sauna in Mandal won the tender competition in Lindesnes municipality with 9.4 out of 10 points, twice as many as the runner-up. Our client Blaud stood behind the bid and Sydvest Arkitekter drew the sauna; we wrote the tender documentation and all the work behind it. That is also where the score comes from: a tender competition is not won on the drawing alone, but on whether you can account for material choices, energy and environmental accounting, and on whether the solution answers the place. Sjøsanden and Furulunden are the very reason people come there, and that had to be legible in the bid. The sauna is finished and in operation.
