Vikedal Badstove is a universally accessible sauna in a grindabygg with slepplaft construction, sited on the mole in Vikedal in Vindafjord. The client is Vikedal Laugarlag, a non-profit that has worked on the project for several years, and the municipality owns the ground the sauna will stand on. Rogaland county council has granted funds earmarked for universal design. We are the responsible designer and the responsible applicant, delivering complete working drawings alongside the planning case and project management towards the carpenter. The association had already tried another route without getting the application over the line, and approached us in autumn 2025. Since the kick-off meeting with the carpenter in February 2026, design of the grindabygg has run in parallel with the planning case.
