Laugarstovo

Laugarstovo is an old boathouse in Ulvik that is now a sauna. Prestakaien is a classic grindbygg, listed in the Sefrak register and protected, and once belonged to the vicarage. Instead of converting the boathouse we put an independent cross-laminated timber structure inside it: everything we have done can be taken out again, and the boathouse stands as before. The village has gained a place to bathe without anyone losing a cultural monument to get it. The project won the 2025 Sustainability Award at the Norwegian Sauna Conference in Oslo.
