In the Kristiansand guest harbour we were not the architect, but the ones who wrote the tender documentation. Our client Blaud won the competition with it, and the building is drawn by Sydvest Arkitekter. Our part was everything that has to be documented for an offer like that to hold: material choices, environmental and climate accounting, and how the sauna could be transported, assembled and used by everyone. It is a prefabricated module in solid glulam blocks, roofed in aluminium and with doors and windows in recycled aluminium, and both the module and the foundation can be taken up again and moved. Around it there is a cold plunge, a shower and bathing steps, so the whole thing works as a bathing place and not just a building. The sauna is in operation. During development the project was called Skagerrak Sauna.
