Heipiplerka

In the summer of 2025 we were commissioned to make an eight-person sauna for Oslo Badstuforening at Sukkerbiten. Everything in it is arranged around the löyly. The floor of the hot room is raised on the Finnish principle, so you sit above the stove and in the middle of the hot air as it rises, and the benches face each other along each long wall. The stove is fired from outside, so the door does not stand open every time someone adds wood. In the gable there is a large window towards Hovedøya. The facade is heartwood pine sawn in Bø in Telemark, and the roof is curved corrugated aluminium. We designed it, and Teige Nes Bygg built it with materials from Øystein Boge AS.
