Grindvoll Badstove

The point at Vassjøtjernet, a small lake at Grindvoll in Lunner, is a meeting place for the village all year. The heritage trail passes by, people fish where the water is deep just off it, in winter there is ice fishing, and school classes have gone ice bathing there (at Easter 1996 someone counted over 50 people on the point). The sauna group in Grindvoll Vel wanted a sauna floating just off the point, and got in touch with us in February 2025, after Badstukonferansen, the Norwegian sauna conference. Since then we have designed the sauna, made the financing plan and run the planning case for the association. It is wood-fired and will sit on a floating pier, and the module is now being built in Sweden.
