Geilo Badstove

The sauna will stand at Geilo beach by Ustedalsfjorden, and Hol municipality will own it. The commission comes from Hol Frivilligsentral, the volunteer centre, and Geilo Badstuelaug, the local sauna association with around 200 members, has already tried out the site with a temporary sauna. We helped with the project description and the applications, and Skuestiftelsen Hol and Sparebankstiftelsen DNB have granted 1.1 million kroner in total to the sauna. We are now drawing the sketch scheme after the sun and the wind on the beach. In the draft the large window looks towards the hole in the ice, and from November to February the sun sets right in it.
