Bjørkheim Sauna

Bjørkheim Sauna was our first sauna. It was finished in the autumn of 2022, before Lokalkontoret was founded, and it was all the questions we got about it that made us start the company. It floats in Teigavika at Årland in Samnanger, a state-secured outdoor recreation area. That is why it lies out where the water is deep, so the beach stays open to everyone. The municipality saw it as a way to use the bathing spot all year, and an ice propeller keeps the cove free of ice in winter. The sauna is wood-fired, built by Teige Nes Bygg and owned by Bjørkheim Sauna AS, in which Erlend is a co-owner.
