Bjørkheim Sauna is our first sauna, and the reason Lokalkontoret exists. We could have put up a ready-made module, but drew and built it from the ground up instead, in robust timber that stands up to west-coast weather. At the same time we made our own lock and booking system, so it could stand open and self-service. It is still the system we use. Bjørkheim was meant to be an informal place where people came and went as they pleased, and what we cared about most was keeping the threshold low for older people and for those who struggle with digital technology.
