Arna Sauna

Arna Sauna floats by the pier at Øyrane Torg in Indre Arna, and opened on 8 December 2024. It began when the proposed area plan for Indre Arna opened for a sauna along the shoreline, and we contacted the sports club Arna-Bjørnar in the summer of 2023. Today the club runs it on a non-profit basis. We designed the sauna, wrote the grant applications, handled the building permit and the agreement for the pier, and made the website, booking and self-service lock, which we still operate for the club. It takes 12 people, with a sauna room and a changing room, and is fully insulated. The cladding is heartwood pine, which lasts long and needs little maintenance.
